Chuck Hebell
Staff Spotlight
Chuck Hebell started his career in providing recovery services at Fellowship House in 2013. While there, he worked at both Sundram Manor in Niagara Falls and Somerset House in Appleton. “I did whatever I could to help out and just rose through the ranks,” he said. At the moment, Chuck is serving as a counselor at Sundram Manor. He has a bachelor’s degree in humanities and social sciences from the University at Buffalo and is a Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC). Before working in the recovery field, Chuck actually worked in construction. “I wanted something more and I wanted to help. It appears to be working out,” he laughed. Cazenovia Recovery’s empowerment of both residents and employees has impressed Chuck ever since he joined our team. “We’re able to do so much,” he expressed. “You’re not just an employee here. The agency really cares and they really want to know how you’re doing.” Chuck greatly appreciates the agency’s embrace of Trauma-Informed Care. This method provides innovative and compassionate ways to help the people we support. “It really does make my job easier,” he said. In line with Trauma-Informed Care’s embrace of proactive approaches, our agency is very dedicated to setting our residents up for success once they complete our programs. “We’re talking about their discharge plans as soon as we meet with new residents,” he noted. “This way, we’re establishing what they need early on.”
